On August 31th, 2017 at about 12:41 PM, the Rochester Police Department, Rochester Fire Department and Frisbie EMS responded to the area of Nola Ave. and Rochester Hill Rd. for a report of a motor vehicle collision with air bag deployment involving a passenger vehicle and a COAST bus.  The initial investigation revealed that Renee Dupuis, age 53 of Rochester, was traveling southbound on Rochester Hill Rd., also known as Route 108, when her vehicle collided with a COAST bus that was stopped at a COAST bus stop.  The front end of her vehicle struck the rear end of the COAST bus, causing Dupuis’ vehicle to underride the rear bumper of the COAST bus.

As a result of the collision, Dupuis was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with undetermined injuries.  Her airbags did deploy during the collision.  Two passengers on the bus to include one child were transported to Frisbie as well as a precaution.  The bus was driven from the scene but Dupuis’ vehicle had to be removed by a wrecker.  The roadway was closed temporarily during the investigation.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.  A medical condition is not being ruled out at this time.  Anyone with any information is urged to contact Ofc. Geoff Moore.
