ROCHESTER — The Rochester Opera House will be hosting two major events to celebrate the opening of the new Performance & Arts Center in downtown Rochester.
There is a Grand Opening party scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 21 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The event will feature live music and light refreshments. Class and workshop information will be available and teachers will be on hand to talk about their classes. There will also be a special ribbon cutting held by the Great Rochester Chamber of Commerce at 4 p.m.
The second event, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 16 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., is geared toward children and families as part of a special Grand Opening for kids and teens. This event will feature musical activities, costumed characters, games, dancing, and more. Children’s class and workshop information will be available and instructors will be on hand to talk about their classes.
“Everyone is welcome to attend the official Grand Opening but we thought we’d host another special event just for families so they can listen to music, dance, and have fun in a friendly environment,” said Executive Director Anthony Ejarque.
“These two events are great opportunities to see the finished space and learn more about the incredible programming we’re offering,” Ejarque said. “This project is huge for downtown Rochester and we hope to see support from Rochester residents and neighboring area businesses.”
