ROCHESTER — As part of National Fire Safety Month, the Rochester Fire Department will welcome local families to its free Fire Safety Festival next Saturday.
The Fire Safety Festival, which is made possible through the support of Papa Gino’s, is meant to teach families fire safety and prevention tips. The festival will be held at the Central Fire Station at 37 Wakefield St. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 14.
“This event allows us to reach out directly to members of our community and provide them with critical fire safety and prevention tips,” Chief Mark Klose said. “By coming to our open house, families will have a chance to learn what to do to protect their loved ones in case of a fire while also having fun and getting to know our dedicated firefighters.”
Papa Gino’s is celebrating its 23rd year sponsoring fire safety festivals throughout New England to encourage families to learn about fire safety procedures. In that time, Papa Gino’s has helped educate more than 2 million people about the importance of fire prevention and safety.
During October, Papa Gino’s restaurants will provide guests with fire prevention themed coloring sheets and certificates for kids, while supplies last.
