City Clerk Kelly Walters announces that residents are invited to offer input at three public hearings scheduled for next Tuesday’s City Council meeting.

The hearings will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, and will address the following matters:

Amendments to the Zoning Ordinance, Chapter 42 of the General Ordinances, Regarding Variances:

Citizens are invited to submit input and ask questions on the issue of whether to make changes to the city zoning ordinance that would require the Zoning Board of Adjustment to vote individually on the five criteria necessary to obtain a variance and to make accompanying findings of fact.

Community Development Block Grant Annual Action Plan

Residents may provide input on the development of the city’s fiscal year 2018-2019 Community Development Block Grant Annual Action Plan, which is funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Projects under consideration for the coming year’s plan include homeless shelter services, substance abuse treatment and recovery services and housing rehabilitation efforts.

Comments and concerns can be submitted ahead of the hearing to Rochester Community Development Coordinator Julian Long via e-mail at julian.long@rochesternh.net, phone at 603-335-7519 or by mail to the Office of Economic and Community Development, 31 Wakefield St., Rochester, N.H. 03867.

Comcast Request for a Cable Television Franchise Agreement

The City Council will discuss a request by Comcast to evaluate the future cable-related needs and interests of the City of Rochester. A copy of the proposed franchise agreement may be obtained in the City Clerk’s Office.

For each hearing, persons with disabilities who would like to request accommodations should contact the City Clerk’s Office (603-332-2130) on or before Nov. 21 in order to make arrangements.
