April is National Poetry month! Rochester Writers Night holds its 10th annual Young Writers Night at the Rochester Public Library on Weds. April 11 at 6 PM. Our group strives to support young writers and showcase their work in an effort to encourage young people to write, and to introduce them to other area writers. There will be several feature writers of high school age, presenting their original work to a listening audience. This will be followed by an open mic, but priority will be given to young people. Sign ups will begin at 6 on site, and our features will begin at 6:15. After the features there will be a short break, followed by the open mic portion of the program. Writers of poetry, prose, or music are welcome to sign up to share their original work. There is a 5 minute limit per participant. The evening ends promptly at 8 PM. This event is free and open to the public.
